AGENTS.md (project instructions)

Put an AGENTS.md at the top of your project and Folto AI reads it before every task. Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor read the same file. Write it once and every AI gets the same rules. (If there’s a CLAUDE.md, Folto reads that too.)

Create or open

1. Open the project name at the top left › Project Settings…
2. Under Instructions for AI, click Create next to AGENTS.md (or Open if it exists)

What to write

• What the project is for, and what the main folders do
• Words to use (“member,” not “user,” for example)
• What not to do (“don’t touch legacy/”)

Personal instructions

Things you always want to say regardless of project (such as tone) go in Settings › Folto AI › Custom instructions.
